They don't have to be, but it helps. Business and first class space can be thin on exact dates, especially during peak periods. A 5–7 day window usually turns up better options.
This price is paid to me, for the work of finding the deal, not to an airline or out of your points balance. The $75 start fee is part of your total price, not extra, and non-refundable since it covers my research time. The rest is a success fee, due only if I find options worth booking. Your points stay in your own accounts the whole time; you still book the flight yourself using the options I hand you.
Yes. Business and first class is the default focus since that's where the value is biggest, but for a cheaper, faster option, note that in the intake form. Economy searches start at $147, no call required.
